I just realized what this reminds me of (speaking of Gaiman)… the cover art for American Gods. It’s not exactly the same, but it has a lot of the same kind of atmosphere. In fact, this would make an excellent horror/thriller cover.
I love the idea of doing commissions for book covers. All the colour in this photo is from the original shot taken at midnight on New Years Eve with distant fireworks giving that eerie glow. Thanks for the link I see what you mean.
