Definitely worth the effort. I came accross a great book while in the area – called Huttons Arse by Dr. Malcolm Rider. A great read with excellent illustrations and explanations. Much more Academic than the title suggests but at the same time written in a way that makes the scientific information very accessible.
I like the way the mountains just peek up over the horizon as individual masses. Pic has a really great atmospheric!
So has the place! The geology here is fascinating.
